Halina Hewson

I am a qualified counsellor, registered member of  MBACP (membership number 00680865), with 13 years of experience, working in different settings.
Currently, I work as the IAPT counsellor for an organisation that specialises in
working with trauma using the trauma-informed approach.

I am originally trained and qualified in the Integrative approach, and recently I qualified as a Dynamic Interpersonal Therapist, which is a brief, structured psychotherapy based on the psychodynamic approach that focuses on improving relationships to help alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. My clients are often individuals who experience relational trauma, often caused by domestic abuse or other problems related to relationships. I work with the clients using relational and attachment-based approaches.  In therapy with the client, we would collaboratively identify problematic, recurring patterns in their relationships, often tracing these patterns back to early childhood experiences.

I can offer Remote counselling and F2F in both English and Polish.
I can offer a free 20-minute phone call, so the client can gain a sense of me and we can together discuss if the approach and modality that I am offering is the most suitable for the client and their symptoms presented.

I have 17 years of experience working for the Probation Service, helping to
rehabilitate offenders in different roles - probation officer and programme tutor. I have several years of experience working with domestic abusers, both survivors and perpetrators.
I wrote a bespoke intervention programme for Polish domestic abuse perpetrators in 2019 called Towards Change, which I successfully delivered to many individuals who wanted to make changes in
their behaviours.

Małgorzata Polnik

Małgorzata is a psychotherapist, a specialist in cancer care, and a fertility counsellor, working with individuals and couples.

She is an integrative therapist, using a comprehensive approach, tailoring therapy to the client's individual needs. This helps her support clients in achieving emotional, mental, and social balance, which will translate into an improved quality of life. She believes that each of us has the potential to create a life aligned with our desires, despite difficult childhood experiences, dysfunctional relationships, or health diagnoses.

Małgorzata started as an oncology nurse, and in recent years, she has been working as a therapist. She works with adults, creating a safe and friendly space for exploring areas of life that seem difficult, problematic, or painful. Iwona Nowakowska

Iwona Nowakowska

I am a certified and experienced psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP, membership number 00982259), with over 13 years of professional experience in mental health, family support, and mediation. My therapeutic work is grounded in a Master’s degree in Educational and Social Sciences, awarded the Medal for Honourable Studies in recognition of academic excellence at the University of Lodz.

I specialise in integrated psychotherapy for Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACoA) and individuals affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). In my private practice, I offer individual therapy both in person and online, using trauma-informed, relational, and attachment-based approaches. I work extensively with trauma, PTSD, and phobias, drawing on two proven therapeutic methods: Brainspotting and the Rewind Technique — both effective in helping clients process and release traumatic experiences safely and efficiently.

In addition to my clinical practice, I have held senior leadership roles in the voluntary sector. From 2021 to 2023, I served as Director of Vesta Specialist Family Support CIC, overseeing therapeutic interventions, parenting programmes, and community outreach. Between 2017 and 2020, I was Director of Poles in Need CIC, an organisation supporting Polish-speaking families facing challenges such as parental conflict, safeguarding concerns, and mental health difficulties.

My professional background includes over a decade of work within local authority early help services, where I supported vulnerable families, facilitated evidence-based parenting programmes, and contributed to child protection and safeguarding processes. I have particular experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, individuals affected by addiction, and those navigating
complex emotional and behavioural issues.

Fluent in both Polish and English, I also offer culturally competent support to migrant communities, including translation and interpreting services where needed. Known for my calm, empathetic, and professional manner, I am committed to delivering high-quality care and engaging in continuous
professional development and clinical supervision.
